Perlica No-Hit Solos Blood Debased: Agony, 9 Minutes and over 9000 Quillbeasts
Hello again! Perlica and I are back for another no-hit Umbral Monument (UM) solo, this time for the frog/toad/9000+ Quillbeasts stage!
Quillbeasts are technically not very challenging to get a no-hit solo attempt on. In fact, I have done a no-hit solo on the three menacing-looking Quillbeasts in Wuling before and it was... boring.
How wrong was I to think that when I first attempted a no-hit solo on this UM stage. D:
If I haven't miscounted, we can get up to 10 (the green Quillbeast "mobs") + 1 (the brown Quillbeast "boss") as time goes on. Since even the green Quillbeasts have a tonne of HP (at least w.r.t. to my Perlica's DPS), our only option was to find openings to do a bit of damage when we have enough SP, and dodge/kite everything else in between.
I find it difficult simply because there are so many opportunities for making mistakes, which is amplified by a combination of things like my Perlica having mediocre DPS + the stage is actually not very big even for kiting + 11 Quillbeasts to (kind of) keep track of at the same time is a lot. Also, part of me always wanted to do a more stylish solo by kiting less, which lead to greedy attempts to get more damage in, which lead to getting hit, which lead to even more attempts...
On a somewhat related note, and after trying with my own teams since the no-hit solo attempt, I feel that this stage is difficult even with a full team with much higher DPS. That made me appreciate Snowshine because of u/latteambros's Frogs are fun to parry even more than I already did after my own attempts.
Anyhow! It's done now and I just wanted to share how I suffered for 9 minutes. Have a lovely weekend and have fun with the new UM stages!
