Hard drive health questions

To keep mechanical drives in peak performance and trying to limit failure of my own doing rather than natural I have a few questions. While I try and keep them cool as possible with good airflow going through, power settings for the drives.

In 'Power Options - Advanced' Turn off hard disk after setting:

Is there an optimal number for this, is it better to leave them going or have them powered down when not in use. I see some recommend '0' others say a higher number like '360'?

If set to '0' I assume this will only equaute to a few watts, its not like booting the machine up and they spin up together?

Is there anything else I should consider?

Laptop respate reassurance

Hey, so I'm aware of laptops especially gaming ones hit 95c with boost clocks and being perfectly normal, it's extreme throttling or exceeding 100c is the big no no.

I bought a business ultrabook for work but with the intention of a little Minecraft and football manager 2026 as you do.

Now Minecraft for example on balanced performance profile I was getting 45fps with fancy graphics and getting around 3.4ghz at 92c. With performance mode 60fps (vsync) around 4.1ghz but 100c. There were some obvious drops in clockspeed on both.

I repasted with krynonaut extreme ( couldn't obtain PTM 7950).

And these are the results one on balanced and the other performance mode after the repaste. I'm aware this is not a gaming laptop and cooling is not designed for this but just want a second set of eyes to check.
