I've been seeing super tense and on edge behavior everywhere in the city today. Judging by the 1000 angry posts about traffic and/or rude behavior on this subreddit in the last few days, everybody else is seeing this kind of thing as well.
Just remember that something like a quarter of this city probably is completely broke the day before every payday, so every increase in the price of gas/food/etc. really screws them over and puts them in debt. People are going to be tense, they're going to have a short fuse, and they're going do irrational things because they're in fight or flight mode because of the sudden, dramatic rise in living costs.
I remember 2022-2023 when everybody was wilding out like this during the inflation/gas price increases, so I just want to say to as many people who will read this:
Have patience for each other!
None of us know who's starting to miss car/mortgage/rent payments or who is eating less so their kids can have a good dinner. But also for the people who are super on edge, please remember that this city is full of people who are packing heat and that being broke sucks way more when you've got to go to court over misdemeanor assault charges. That's all! Love you, Columbus. Stay alive out there!
