Coming here out of sheer desperation. Unfortunately my 5 (almost 6) year old American staff mix has started showing warning signs toward my younger child. I’ve been trying to rehome him since February and I’ve had no luck with private rehoming or rescues (both bully breed specific and regular). Someone suggested I come here and see if anyone might be able to take him. I know I’m in a really tough situation with a grim outcome. I’m trying to do right by my dog. He’s not a bad dog, just a dog in an environment that’s not longer suiting him. I truly appreciate any advice. Thank you

I’ve been actively trying to rehome my dog since earlier this year because he started showing some concerning warning signs towards my dog 1.5 year old child. I haven’t had ANY luck. Like none. No interest on my Facebook rehoming group posts. No interest on private rehoming websites. No luck on the Nextdoor app. No luck with rescues. I don’t have any friends or family who can take him either. What else am I supposed to do when I’ve exhausted all options? Full transparency- I’m so drained. Even before the warning signs I was already feeling at my wits end with the dog. Now I’m putting in so much effort to do right by him and I’m not having any success. It’s building resentment. My stress and anxiety are through the roof. Has anyone been here before? Anyone have any ideas? Words of encouragement? Literally anything 🥲
