I contracted a company to build a front porch. They have done the base brickwork. I have stopped work as I had concerns about foundations. Essentially, they have not laid any foundations - just put down mortar onto the soil and bricks on top.

I have lost all confidence in them and I do not want them to do any further work. I want a refund of the money paid so far. Do I have the right to terminate our contract?

Contracted a company to build a front porch with a brick dwarf wall. Stopped work as I am concerned about the foundations.

Should there be a concrete base before the brickwork is laid down? It looks like they just laid down mortar on the soil and built the bricks on top.

Looking into what action I can take. I don’t have confidence in them to carry out the work and hoping to terminate the contract. Anyone dealt with anything like this?
