Hey y'all,
I currently have two credit cards (Capital One Quicksilver and Discover) and have high utilization (85%) on those 2 due to major unexpected expenses.
I am focusing on paying those down but am not able to spend much more than the minimum payments right now because I am saving up for a car (my old one is on its way out.)
My credit score dipped to 660 because of these and I'm wanting to raise my score a bit before I finance a car later this year.
Would getting a new card help my score in anyway? I know I'd get a hit from the inquiry but figured it would also help my utilization quite a bit. I realize I'm not in an ideal situation and should have been more prepared for unexpected expenses, but looking to work my way out of it now.
Also open to any other advice anyone has.
