Curious how other Shopify store owners track product performance day to day.

When I was working on a store recently, I realized I mostly cared about a few simple things:

  • which products get lots of views
  • which products get added to cart
  • which ones actually convert

I ended up building a small internal dashboard for this because I kept jumping between Shopify analytics and GA4.

What metrics do you guys actually check most often?

Lately while working on a Shopify store I noticed I kept manually checking the same things over and over:

  • which products get lots of views
  • which ones get added to cart
  • which products people seem interested in but never actually buy

I tried a few analytics apps but most felt either overloaded with features or too expensive for something I wanted quick visibility on.

So I ended up building a very simple internal tool that just shows:

views → add to carts → purchases

for each product in one dashboard.

What surprised me is how often products with decent traffic completely fail to convert.

Now I’m curious if other store owners actually look at this kind of data often, or if you mostly judge products by sales alone.

What metrics do you personally pay attention to most when deciding whether a product/page is performing well?
