Moisture barrier advice

We get a lot of condensation in winter (old bungalow) so I'm looking to adding a moisture barrier, but I am wondering if there are cases where it might not be appropriate, or anyone has any advice for our particular space please.

First, I read that the barriers should be 'enclosed' but we have wooden planks all the way around with gaps. Does this mean the plastic should run all the way up the sides to the top?

Secondly we have a ton of pipes under there which look hard to navigate, especially given the space is so narrow.

Third, the whole thing is covered in bark chip, would this risk damaging the plastic and put holes in in?

Thanks!
