Hi, I have been playing tennis for over one and half years now. I play 2-3 times a week, inside a air dome from end of September to May as it is typical in Italy.
I have two Head Speed MP 2024. Main racket is stringed at 23x22 kg with Head Lynx and the other one at 22x21kg with the same strings. I use the first most of the time as I keep the second in Milan to play with it when I am there for work.
I tend not to obsess to much over strings and I would say I restring every 2 months. In the last few weeks I noticed the strings of my main racket last much less than usual to the point that the mains don’t snap back in place after 4/5 hours play.
The cross strings remain in tension and they snap back but I can notice a notch created on the mains. Hopefully it’s visibile from the video.
The strings of the other racket strung at 22x21 last much longer to the point that I have brought it to the shop to restring this week after roughly 20 hours because I felt a little bit of discomfort last time I played with it, even if tension seemed still fine. This started to make me wonder about how good is the stringer of the main racket.
In fact, the two rackets are strung in two different cities and therefore shops. The only main difference is that I frequently play with the main racket inside an air dome with the air inside that becomes very hot recently with a lot of humidity.
It’s the stringer or the conditions? What are your thoughts?
