How do I know if the visulation is working or not?

I want to practice mental visualization, so I started by bravely imagining death for a month and a half to test its effectiveness and impact. However, the problem is that I did not feel any fear while imagining it. So I added more intense scenarios, but the same thing happened; there was still no fear, even though I imagined everything in minute detail and experienced the situation as if I were really in it.

Although I felt some confidence after the visualization, fear never appeared during the process.

Then I changed to a situation that currently stresses me out and continued for a month, but it was the same result.

So in this case, does mental visualization generally not help me?
