My manager went in holiday and I thought they'd come back business as usual based on what they were saying. Then half way through their time off I heard whispers that someone is coming on to replace them because they'll be moving to somewhere else in the business.

The manager came back from holiday, and I'm expecting them to join a few of our regular meetings, but nothing. Added to that they didn't even drop a note to say they're back.

Now meetings are being arranged with the new manager, but the senior leaders or the new person hasn't even introduced themselves to the team.

What are your thoughts on this and is it perfectly reasonable to be upset at the lack of transparency and formal communication.
