I know the community's general consensus is to avoid joining LR quests with HR weapons, and LR/HR quests with MR weapons, and that it's better to downgrade at least your weapon to match the quest rank to avoid 2-shoting the monster. Especially when it comes to assignment quests, as you will end up taking away the challenge for a likely new player.

But how are we feeling about doing this with specifically investigations and event quests? People usually do them to farm monster material and/or event rewards, likely after already having completed various quests for that monster multiple times. So it's not like you'll trivialize their 1st encounter with the monster by bringing an overpowered weapon.

Personally I wouldn't mind if some overpowered player joined an investigation or even quest I had already done +5 times, since it would just shorten my grind. But I'm curious to know what are other people's opinions on this.
