Has anyone had cat allergies show up weeks later?
My husband used to visit me at parent’s house regularly before we moved in together. He would stay for hours, sometimes overnight, and we had a cat at the time (at one point even two). He never had any allergic reactions back then. No symptoms at all.
Now we’ve been living together and got a kitten about 3 weeks ago. The first ~2 weeks were completely fine. Then about a week ago he suddenly started having symptoms like teary eyes, congestion, and itchy ears. He’s convinced it’s because of the kitten.
What confuses me is the timing. I’d expect a cat allergy to show up right away, not after weeks.
We also use a clay litter with herbs that attract kitten and it can get dusty, so now I’m questioning if it could be irritation from that rather than the cat itself.
Has anyone had something like this?
