What moisturisers are safe for my silkie?
I recently was given a bearded dragon, only I didn't realise at the time that he is actually a juvenile silkback (I have never had a bearded dragon or any reptile at all before, and assuming I would be getting a leatherback like both of his parents, I never realised this was a possibility). Now, I am aware that the breeding of this morph is morally questionable but it was their first time breeding as well, it's legal where I live, and due to my inexperience with reptiles I want to make it clear that I have NO INTENTION of continuing his bloodline or housing him with another reptile, ever.
Now my question is, I am unsure what moisturisers are safe for him. I have found so many varying opinions and am completely unsure which sources to trust and what is actually good for him. He does seem to have much thicker skin than most silkbacks, and does not seem to be affected by having a typical bearded dragon setup or anything, but the skin on his tail doesn't seem to shed properly at all and despite his regular baths he hasn't been losing it at all. It isn't causing any circulation issues so he may just be shedding it when I'm not looking, but I want to make sure that I am doing everything right for him as he gets older.
Also, if there is any other information that is relevant to silkies from personal experience with them, I would love to learn more about him so I can be the best to him.
