I recently had my latest deep dive published in Design Bootcamp on Medium, and I wanted to share it with this community to get your thoughts.

We’ve all been there: A client or vendor uses a 2021 logo version even though we’ve sent the 2024 update multiple times. Usually, we blame the client. But the reality is that the problem is systemic.

As designers, we often ignore Asset Governance as part of the design process. We spend months on components but leave delivery to ZIP files and Slack threads.

In the article, I break down:

  • The "Symptom vs. Disease": Why treating asset delivery as a one-time transaction is killing our Design Ops.
  • Manual Versioning: Why are we still doing this by hand in 2026?
  • Automatic Propagation: What a truly designed asset system should look like (Single Source of Truth).

I’d love to hear how you guys handle this. Do you use enterprise tools like Bynder/Frontify, or are you still fighting the "can you resend the logo" battle daily?
