Live Orange Trees in the ND Experience

So we went to the pop up both Sat & Sunday and noticed that they have these huge live orange trees in there. They were shedding leaves because they’re obviously dying with no sunlight in there.

Turns out that they were $6k each (we counted 5, I think?) and shipped over from Japan. I can’t think of any reason as to why is it necessary to buy orange trees from across the world to have them sit and die?! It would’ve been perfectly fine and probably cheaper to either go with California trees or, even better, fake trees that wouldn’t need grow lights. I guess someone lost their job over this screw up. Guess we know why a single shirt costs $175! (although those ones were the best choices imo, but sadly not within my budget)

I’m interested in knowing how the trees fair over the next week (month?) or two, if they’ll even last more than another week or two. If anyone notices them, keep me updated hahaha
