Paint fumes
Downstairs neighbour painted their apartment and now we have paint fumes stuck in our main bedroom for a week. We’ve tried everything. Leaving bowls of baking soda and putting baking soda in the carpet to deodorise. Heating up the room and ventilating overnight. Ventilating all day. We haven’t been able to use our main bedroom bcos of strong fumes that won’t go away.
Neighbour finished painting last Saturday. We have stopped ventilating in the day as that’s when they ventilate their apartment.
I am losing my mind how to solve this issue. I cannot relax in my own home and I am heavily pregnant. We’ve had other neighbours paint their apartment (before and during this pregnancy) and this is the worst it’s been. It doesn’t make sense.
Edit: thank you for all the comments and suggestions. I’ve contacted the building manager regarding vent/cavity issue so they will need to send someone to investigate. For time being, planning to tape all the vents to mitigate reintroducing odor/fumes back.
