First of all let me tell you that I love math (as far as I know of it), and I find it very very cool tho I understand absolutely nothing. Forgive me for my ignorance but I need to wrap my head around some concepts.
I know Pascal formula, I know Euler's formula, but is this what a math genius do? Do they summarize how a question can be solved with little effort or make an algorithm?
And I always see news like "A mad man solved 85 year old math problem!"... What the hell solving a problem actually means here? Do they tell what the result of a certain formula/algorithm would be? Do they add something creative or from the real life and the question makes sense? Or wouldn't a, I don't know, a super computer solve this already or something?
