Just passed my first merit date in my A6. My manager did not dicuss my merit increase with me before submitting it and when I asked what it was going to be (finally asked on my actual merit date because I hadn’t heard anything), they said 4%. I am confused. I completed all my tasks to the extent I could (can’t do anything if things get stuck in approvals for months on end because they’re not priorit). I asked repeatedly for more work and was not given it. What more could I have done to get a 5%? What can I do differently this year?

Ok guys. The mainfloor lobby, including the washrooms, have always been a bit sketchy in the past decade. Especially on cheque day. But lately, it has been absolutely nuts. For OPSers that have to use the mainfloor washrooms, you have no idea what you’re going to find everytime you go in. Lately I’ve seen naked people in the bathroom, alcohol consumption, possible sex, people shaving, people sitting on the floors in stalls, toilets being plugged. Someone today took a dump and smeared it all around the bathroom on the floor. Two weeks ago a guy talking to himself was hanging out in the lobby all morning with a strange object in a sling behind his back. The security guard did absolutely nothing - made themselves scarce. The guy was saying some pretty disturbing things and the police were called. They never showed up.

Honestly, it’s getting a bit much for a little OPSer that just wants to show up to work, have a safe workday, and go home. Where’s the safe working environment we are promised?

Do the mainfloor washrooms have to be available to the public?
