Currently torn between 2 different styles. I was initially leaning towards the first option (picture 1) but I recently saw the 2nd option from Frank Darling and really like the 8 prongs as it’s unique and I haven’t seen it before.

Any thoughts on these 2 rings and if there are any concern for stability/longevity?

Of note, I want a round diamond and am drawn to the old European cut.
