I've started to use a personal cup more often, I usually just go in store so I don't cause issues in the drive thru. I usually get ventis and use my 30oz tumbler because I know that way it won't spill over. I'm just asking if what happened is standard and what all baristas would do. The other day I ordered a grande caramel macchiato with cold foam and used the same tumbler and this was the worst mistake ever. The barista took my cup and then I guess because it was a macchiato (I didn't really think about this) she poured the espresso, and then just filled the rest of the cup with milk until it got to the top. Because it was supposed to be a 16oz drink in a 30oz cup it just tasted like sweetened milk because by my calculation even with the cold foam I probably had 12oz of extra milk added. I fully own I did not think about the difference in how a macchiato is made vs. a latte so i understand if this was an issue I caused using a tumbler that was too big, I just wanted to know if this is how it would always be handled or if I just threw the barista off with the larger cup size
