UST MedBio or DLSU Laguna HumBio for premed? I am having a hard time to picking which.
I passed the USTET and DCAT and now I want to study premed in either UST Manila (MedBio) or DLSU Laguna (HumBio); however, I am having a hard time to pick due to factors such as the courses' curricula and financial contexts. My goal is to become a physician.
For context:
- UST MedBio tuition is approx 140k per year and completing this course takes 4 years. This means approx 560k for premed.
- DLSU Laguna HUMBIO is 270-300k per year; however, I received full scholarship and monthly stipend from the school itself.
- I am from Laguna and DLSU is 20-30 min away from me.
Ngayon tinitimbang ko kung bakit gusto ko mag-aral sa either schools. Yung UST kase, dream school ko siya at saka maganda rin reputation and foundation ng school sa medicine. Cons in studying here is ofc yung mahal tuition premed palang + dorm ako. Matagal rin time bago maging physician. As for DLSU nman, convenience, financial assistance, and accelerated pathway (6 years) are my pros. Cons ko nman here are upcoming med school tuition after 2 years kase di na siya covered by scholarship na natanggap ko + higher burnout and cortisol levels. Sabi nila super intense talaga kapag 6 years accelerated med.
Ano mas matimbang sa tingin niyo, dream school with good med rep and foundation + traditional medicine pathway but expensive tuition and dorm or convenience w/ scholarship for 2 years but upcoming med school tuition for 4 years and higher burnout risk?
