I am part of a group recreating various Indian swordsmanship texts and I have noticed (understandably) that many Rajputs are unwilling to share their text archives.
At the same time, I have noticed that many Rajput do not seem to engage in their ancestral swordmanship traditions.
At most I see some talwar baaji/ sword spinning instead of real practice.
Mostly the real weapons play I have seen happens in Akhara with Lathi instead of with swords. Most are pre-arranged forms.
What are the traditions of swordmanship in your tradition and do you train and part-take?
