I'm trying gesture drawing, specifically I'm following Michael Hempton's book and YouTube tutorials.
Now I understand that in gesture we're trying to extrapolate energy and rhythm, so we avoid doing silhouettes, but I feel like to get the feel of the pose I either do too little (like one spine line and a couple basic lines for the limbs) or too much (for some poses i basically end up with a complete silhouette).
Now, comparing with some of Hampton's drawings (picture 2) I still feel I scribble much less than him, so I find myself thinking I draw too much even when I have less lines than him. On the other hand I'm also kinda happy with the results im getting so I don't know what should I do differently if anything at all.
Any advice?
