Anyone else feel like the QA role is slowly merging into something else?

Had a conversation with our PM last week and realized I knew more about how users actually move through the app than she did. Not because she's bad at her job, but because I spend all day breaking the flows she designs.

Five years ago my job was write test cases, file bugs, repeat. Now half my day is figuring out what's even worth testing, which is basically product thinking.

Anyone else feeling this shift? Is this a good thing for the role or are we just getting scope creeped into oblivion?
