I'm spending a month in a small apartment in the Cyclades by the beach and want a book that hits these notes:

Feel-good and funny, but with substance. Not shallow.

No drama or romance. Not interested in love stories.

Good writing. The kind where I can stop and actually think about what I just read.

Optimistic tone. Adult themes.

Nothing that requires too much mental effort to follow (beach reading vibes).

I want something I can pick up, read a chapter, and have something meaningful to sit with for a bit.

Preferably in English or French. I'm French but can read both fluently. I prefer to read a book in its original language. And I'm a guy, if that matters.

Any suggestions?
