Lorcan's Paternal Origins

I've been doing a lot of mulling about Lorcan and how he's different from the rest of the cadre, other than being Demi-fae--mostly about his magical powers. Maeve calls him her "dark warrior" and apparently told him that she had no clue as to the origin of his magic.

Some folks have speculated that she might be his mother. But she told Dorian that she had no children--that she never allowed her body to mature in that way (in a discussion about Orcas and the origin of Valg offspring). The Maeve as Mother theory could also explain why she rejected his sexual advances--although I wouldn't put it past her to bed her own son. But I don't think that's the what's at the root. I think Maeve said "no" to him because he's not pure enough for her and she wouldn't sully herself with a Demi-fae male.

I think Lorcan is one of the many scattered children of Hel. Thanatos was in the Court of Nightmares and had a "difficult daughter" (Fury???). Maybe he visited Wendlyn too! He's the Prince of Death, and Lorcan's magic is death. Lorcan's magic goes out in waves. Thanatos seems to have a similar form of magic. I don't think it's Apolliion or Aidas, although I could be persuaded otherwise, only because their humanoid forms are as "blonde pretty-boys" (to paraphrase Hunt). Then of course there are the other four unnamed princes. Maybe Valg? But not a child of the three kings we know?

What do you of the Maasverse think?
