I just joined the community because I had my first ever lucid dream last night and have nobody else to understand what I’m talking about. For context, I first read about lucid dreaming in middle school, now 26, and I have tried off and on the WILD (i think where you let body fall asleep and keep mind awake??) for a decade but never a true success (once heard like whispers and noises and woke myself up instantly i was so scared)

anyways, so i alway imagine this storyline in my head as i fall asleep to see if it could ever spiral into a lucid dream & because it helps me sleep either way, and i fell asleep as usual. i woke up 3am to let my dog out and basically fell asleep almost instantly once i hit the pillow again. all of a sudden, i feel this kind of falling sensation where i feel almost like im teleporting and falling at the same time, and im like 60-70% aware of what’s going on. i land in what i can best describe as like a minecraft world but with super insane visual detail like so beautiful and vice i couldn’t believe it. i just remember thinking oh my god i cant wait to tell my sister about how beautiful this looks.

so i realize im fully aware and cognizant and that im Dreaming. i’ve finally done it. so first thing i do obviously is start flying, and man the detail is so unreal and vivid, its indescribable genuinely. eventually decided i want to play soccer in my dream (currently coming back from a torn acl so im like what the hell why not??) and i’m like able to control my movements and even the colors of the teams jerseys but i couldn’t control like getting the ball to come to me. eventually i start losing a bit of control in the dream and tell myself it’s time to wake up, but when i “wake up” it’s me still dreaming but now not lucid, just thinking im actually awake, which was a trip in itself.

sorry if this was too long of a post, i just am genuinely so excited and amazed at the magnificence of the human brain. do any of you pro lucid dreamers have any tips on how to be more in control in your dreams? like, i could control some things but only to a certain extent. would love to hear any tips or shared stories if you guys made it this far :))
