So i just adopted these two boy kittens on wednesday , they’re between the ages of 6 and 9 weeks old . I just discovered one of them (percy) has ringworm and they both had minor fleas when i brought them home. I immediately took them to my bathroom and gave them both a dawn bath (i didn’t have any flea shampoo on hand). I combed their fur with a rat tail comb since i didn’t have a flea one yet and tried to make sure i got all the fleas. They seemed free of fleas but I set up an appointment with my local vet clinic this coming wednesday to get them flea prevention as well as deworming and their vaccinations. Turns out they were not infact free of fleas so on Saturday(yesterday), I attempted to give them both another bath but on Friday I noticed a bite mark on one of them (loki) , it was red and he kept licking it so i diy-ed a sweater to keep him off of it and it was still open when I was gonna give him a bath so to avoid the bite getting infected or anything i opted to not give him a bath since i really only did see a flea on percy (ik loki most likely has some stragglers too). I moved on to bathe percy and that’s when i noticed the ringworm … he also wasn’t going for the bath whatsoever. I online chatted this 24/7 vet and she recommended a quarantine and some shampoo and mousse , even though I didn’t see any patches on loki , she said since they been playing and grooming each other I should treat them both . So they’re both quarantined with their food water and litter box in my laundry room in my basement, it’s pretty spacious and i put some toys in there and check on them. My main concern is i caught on too late and they’ve already infected the house with flea eggs and ringworm spores . Last night i moved the and everything they used or laid on (towels bedding toys) to the laundry room and washed it on high heat . I’ve vacuumed twice since then and made a bleach mixture to wipe down surfaces. I don’t have a flea and tick spray yet but i’ve ordered one , i just want to know if an infestation is still possible and if anyone in my house may have contracted the ring worm. day one they were upstairs the whole time to get comfortable, same as day two , day three , they came down the stairs and explored a little , day four they were jumping about …until the realization. and today is day 5 🥹
