So I've taken to watching ZiziMalta on youtube as a way of learning Maltese. Yes, I know the intended audience is significantly younger than me. But if you can get past that (and I can) it's rather good as a way of hearing Maltese and picking things up through context.

Are there are any other channels aimed at children that might help in this way?

I don't say this lightly.

Starmer has fucked up trans rights to the point that there is little functional difference between his government and anything Farage might do, short of literal internment camps for people like us. It has become functionally impossible to get work in two areas where I have significant work experience (education and social care) thanks to his allowing the courts to reinterpret trans rights. Even though blend in and no one has ever had doubts as to whether I am a woman, I am now scared to use public toilets or travel alone for fear of anti-trans hate crimes. The UK media hasn't helped at all in this of course, but the government has never once condemned the media's institutional transphobia, or even specific examples of it. So congrats transphobes I guess.

I am emigrating soon. And while I'd like to say it is a direct result of Starmer's anti-trans policies, the truth is he is merely the continuation candidate for the previous Conservative government's anti-trans policies.

This country is NOT safe for transgender people. I sympathise with those who can't get out, but I need to stay alive.

If all you can say is "vote Labour or Farage will get in," I have news for you. Practically speaking, for me, Farage has already gotten in. You weren't there for me when I needed you. That "First they came..." poem comes to mind. One way or another, I can't be there for you now, because too many people think throwing trans people under a bus is acceptable collateral to prevent Farage getting in.

So I'm doing some pan-fried steaks for dinner tonight. And we're out of cream.

Plenty of milk, butter, flour (both corn and wheat), and most ingredients you'd expect for a kitchen. What are my options here to make a pan sauce that won't be an absolute fail?

I'm aware of the cream cheese hack, but I don't have that either (just some cheddar and some crumbly leicester cheese, plus Maltese gbejna). I do have plenty of pate, which could possibly work?
