So like 2 years ago i was apart of my first long term campaign, i had played dnd in two other campaigns but they were pretty short ( one was a one shot and the other had 4 sessions ). This one tho, was about a year long.

We started out with i think 3 people, I, dwarf guy and strainer ( the guy that made me quit ). It started out as a chill little thing we did every two weeks ( we were at a school building and the campaign was held by it so we had an adult DM ). We did a couple of small quests and then went to a little cave with some story development ( the big story was that we had to kill a big spider ) and i multiclassed in paladin ( rogue base ) ( strainer is a dragonborn cleericc? i dont really remember, it was a while ago after all. he atleast could use spells ) Also the dwarf guy left for some reason.

I first noticed how he was kind of a bad player when we got new player friends, two guys who was a little older than us. I of course was kind of nervous since i dont want to be judged, so i spoke english since they spoke english however i stopped after the first session with them. Strainer did not which was kind of annoying since his accent swapped around every second, its american wait no its british, what no its austrailian, you get the gist.

We did some quests and then we went to a big manor place with bandits and stuff. The big bad there had an alchemist companion which was one of the new guys friends, he was a good player. Around here i noticed another thing strainer did, he constantly, like constantly talked over the DM, which we tried to help him with but he wouldnt stop.

Eventually one of the alchemist guys friend joined in ( a girl ) which we all thought was cool, she basically did her schoolwork and helped with ideas. One time when we were figuring out how to get a bunch of dead bodies to a necromancer we wanted to be friends with, he quite literally mansplained to her ( i dont really remember the details, but none the less. But we continued elsewhere, to a dragon place. I remember strainer getting really excited, which is fair since he is a dragon born but he started not letting anyone else do anything.

That is around where i quit, the sheer annoyingness of strainer was making me dread each session. Should i have quit earlier or was i being dramatic? Thank you for reading, readers.
