I’ve been experimenting with an AI-generated adaptation of Emma called Emma Enchanted — essentially “Emma… with a twist.”

The idea was to keep much of Austen’s wit, social dynamics, and character relationships intact, while layering in subtle fantasy elements: potions, enchantments, magical intuition, even the occasional orc wandering through the countryside.

Oddly enough, the fantasy angle actually made Emma’s meddling feel more dangerous and amusing at the same time.

I’m a longtime Jane Austen fan, and I genuinely wanted to approach it with affection rather than parody. It’s also been an interesting experiment in seeing whether AI tools can be used to create serialized period storytelling on a tiny budget.

I’d honestly love to know:

  • What’s the strangest adaptation twist on Austen that you’ve seen actually work?
  • And do you think fantasy and Austen can coexist without losing what makes Austen… Austen?

(If anyone’s curious, I can share the trailer/episodes.)
