I want to buy a camera that is simple to use, small and compact, but gives good quality high resolution photos. I don't care much about videos. I was thinking within 40 to 45 thousand. Please kindly recommend cameras accordingly and also if it's worth buying one now that we have smart phones.

I am very bad with technology stuff. So please guide.
