Pitchers of orange juice at breakfast!?!?
I live in the UK, as a result the majority of movies and some TV series I watch are American made. What is the deal with the pitcher of orange juice at breakfast!? Doesn't matter if it's 1974 or 2020, this seems to be a staple of American culture. Every breakfast scene ever, a whole pitcher of orange juice is present, often everyone will leave well before it's finished. What happens to the left over orange juice!? It just gets thrown away? You siphon it back into the carton? ... You just leave it and and finish it through the week, topping it up when necessary???!....This seems utterly mad to me. Why not pour it as you need it from the re-sealable receptacle!? Why does it NEED to be in a glass jug?
Is this just a movie trope? If so, then why!? If not then what the fuck is the logic!?!?!
This has been winding me up for decades. I finally cracked and turned to Reddit. There's a bunch more of these I could mention but I feel like this is one of the more consistent. If I get a coherent response I might do some follow up posts.
