Completely unsolicited advice, but in response to some "bleak" feelings of listlessness amongsts the incels and femcels on here I'd like to suggest you make little challenges for yourself. These need to be things with a clear outcome, that are difficult to do but are completely achievable within 6 months. Make them physical and/or interpersonal.
Some suggestions:
- Perform 10 strict pull-ups (men) / 5 strict pull-ups (women) from a dead hang.
- Run a 5km (at a particular time if the distance itself isn't intimidating or up it to a 10km, half or full marathon depending on your level).
- Train to reduce your resting heart rate level by 5-10 bpm.
- Learn enough of a new language to hold a 5 minute introductory conversation.
- Learn to play one song on a completely new instrument.
- Learn a new physical skill in a group class: dance, martial arts, fitness etc.
- Engage is some sustained social activity that will be unpleasant - volunteering weekly, speed dating once a month, doing an open mic one a month etc.
- Make three new friends.
A lot of the advice on here seems to be about 'quitting' things like drinking or porn or food, or increasing cognitive activities which just fuels neuroticism like writing and reading goals.
Better goals are embodied, with clear pass/fail goals in the real world.
