Found a neat little artifact hidden in my vintage Voltron's box
Picked up a Miniature Vehicle Team Voltron for my vintage collection that also included the box for a surprisingly low price. Figure is perfect but the box is a bit rough. As is often the case the flap on the side was folded back and taped. Normally I would have guessed it was a gift and the flap was folded back to make it easier to wrap. So I cut the tape to reset the flap and was surprised to find a letter hidden under the flap from Matchbox. Apparently this was a replacement for one that had an issue. Letters like this are such a relic from a bygone time when companies had a human touch. It's obviously just a form letter, but when was the last time you returned something and got an apology letter with your replacement? The most bizarre part is there's a half torn off Kmart price tag on top. Did someone at Matchbox really run out and buy a replacement to mail off? 😅Whatever's the case, that letter is pretty rare and I'm happy to have it in my collection, I promptly stuck it inside the box for safe keeping.
