Is political science a good major?

Hello. I'm about to start high school in a few months. I know some people will say that it's "too early" to think about what major to pick, but I have been telling my teachers about my dream to get a job related to political sciences. One of the reasons that made me want to pick it is that I'm really good at public speaking and debating. I know this might sound cliche, but I want to help make the world a better place, even if it is a tiny change.

When I talked to my teachers about it, they said I'd be really good at it, but I would hardly be able to find a job especially because I don't have any relations. I don't want to follow my dreams and end up becoming unemployed just because I wanted to follow my delusions. I was just wondering if someone here had any experience/ knows someone who took political sciences? Did you regret it? Also I know that bachelor's degree wouldn't be enough to find a decent job when it comes to political sciences, so what did you do to help with that? I'm not planning to only stick to my bachelor's degree, but I heard a lot of people say that you need to take other things like economics. If anyone could share their experience, I would be more than grateful. Thank you.
