First car purchase and I keep going back and forth on this one. Hoping some car owners can help me decide.
Looking at a used 2021-2024 Accord, two trims in play:
• Sport around $26–28K
• Touring Hybrid around $30–32K
Quick about me: single, no family, picked the Accord over an SUV because honestly it’s got more than enough space for me and I just like how sedans drive.
Few things I’m stuck on:
Is the Touring Hybrid actually worth $4K more long-term? The MPG bump is nice but I’m not driving cross-country every day, so not sure it pays back.
If I got to resale in 2–3 years ( worst case) — does Sport hold up better since it’s the “popular” trim, or does Touring keep value because of all the features (HUD, Bose, ventilated seats)?
How different do they actually feel to drive? Sport sounds peppier on paper but I’ve heard the hybrid is buttery smooth. Anyone driven both?
First-time buyer tips — where to look + how to negotiate?
Also where are people finding the best deals on used Accords these days? Dealer, CarMax, Carvana, private party? ( in USA - Boston/ nyc )
And any negotiation hacks that actually work in 2026? First time doing this and I don’t want to walk in clueless and overpay
