Anyone else think Jax's character isn't as complex as everyone makes him out to be?
I've been seeing a lot of people all over social media praising Jax's character writing and calling his character very complex and whatnot. They claim his character has depth and even go as far as claiming he's one of the best written characters out there ( yes, I did see someone say this ) when in reality, his trope has been used multiple times with other character's, like Bojack Horseman, their tropes are pretty similar. This isn't meant to be some type of hate post, I'm just genuinely curious why people think his writing is the best out there when there are other characters like him in other media which are objectively written better. Plus, I feel like Kinger and Jax's trauma/backstory when they first entered the circus is pretty similar with how they both lost their loved one('s), the only difference is how they cope, with Jax being a literal jerk to everyone because of his past. I personally think his writing is decent and not bad at all, my main issue is with those type of people who think he's one of the best characters ever written and that he is insanely complex when he really isn't all that. Honestly I just feel like his character trope is overdone and that his character is pretty simple to understand, or I most likely just haven't dove deeper into it idk. What do yall think?
