We traveled to Thailand together, but I had to come back early for work.
So they flew back a month later… by themselves.
Before their flight, I told them like 10 times:
“If they ask about food or meat… just say NO.”
They don’t speak much English, so I was already stressed.
Simple. One job.
Fast forward to customs…
Officer: “Do you have any meat products?”
My dad: “YES.”
…sir???
Immediate side room. Full bag search. The whole experience
They didn’t even have anything.
Turns out he thought they meant:
“do you eat meat?” like… in general
🤦♀️
