How many Megazords actually require the whole team?

How many seasons does every Ranger need to be present to summon, form, and operate their Megazord?

For instance Lightspeed Rescue does not need the full team to form and pilot almost all their Megazords (with one exception). In fact we see their Megazords being piloted by a single Ranger on multiple occasions.

Then you have teams like Mystic Force which absolutely need the whole team to form and operate their Megazords.

But we also have teams like Wild Force. Because of Merrick we know Rangers can summon multiple Wild Zords, so if a Wild Force had the necessary Crystals to form a Megazord, could they do it alone? Also could they pilot a Wild Zord Megazord by themselves, as there is only one instance of the whole team not being present and it was brief (Alyssa left the cockpit briefly to help Princess Shayla and get the Elephant Wild Zord, but we never actually see the Wild Force Megazord fight, it’s just sort of implied)?

Does anyone have a list?

Changes I would make to Megaforce (and Super Megaforce, a little)

So I’ve had a couple ideas for a bit on changes I’d have made to Megaforce. Mostly it’s just better ways to lean into nostalgia, and I thought I’d share.

First, Gosei. Instead of making him Zordon’s apprentice and trying to make him exactly like Zordon, Gosei instead is Ninjor’s apprentice. That way you can have him be constantly trying to improve the powers and that’s why Megaforce gets so many power ups so quickly. He’s enthusiastic about the powers and Zords he’s made based off his Master’s teachings. Which actually brings up my next change…

The Morphers. Since they were really trying to recapture the feel of Mighty Morphin’ I think the Morphers should’ve been Belt Buckles with Power Coins. We could say these Morphers were the last created by Ninjor, but Gosei made their powers so that’s why they still have the Gosei head and cards because Gosei likes cards and branding is important.

Next, Robo Knight. Robo Knight instead of just being a Robot Warrior Gosei created, is actually an Alpha series model (I’m thinking Alpha 4). Basically Gosei would be working on trying to repair this older Alpha Model and one day something empowers them (I’m thinking a bit of Zordon’s energy from the Z-Wave that was buried in the Earth, that way Robo Knight is a combination of Alpha and Zordon). Taking the Robo Knight Morpher, Alpha leans into their programming to protect the Earth and becomes a Power Ranger. Admittedly I just like the idea of the Rangers oldest ally becoming a Ranger. It would also barely change Robo Knight’s story if they do it right, and for older fans could make Robo Knight’s death more impactful.

Lastly, them getting new powers and Zords. The Megaforce Rangers should absolutely lose their powers and the Super Megaforce Powers (which would get a different name) are their replacements. I minor quest to get them would be cool too and a nice call back to the Search for Ninjor and the Zeo Quest. Also no, “there’s a simple explanation for that,” for the Black to Green moment because the explanation is Gosei made these powers alone, and likes Green more than Black (also there would be a brief fight before the teams first morph and Jake and Noah would accidentally switch Ranger keys since they fit the personalities of those Sentai counterparts a little better). Finally the SMF Zords would actually have ties to previous Power Ranger series. The Rangers would find these items pieces of Power Ranger’s history and use their Ranger Keys to turn them into their personal Zords.

-The Super Mega Skyship is The Ghost Galleon from the Turbo Power Rangers’ Movie

-The Super Mega Jet is the SHARC from Operation Overdrive

-The Super Mega Wheeler is the Mobile Command Center from Ninja Storm

-The Super Mega Racer is a Rad Bug from Mighty Morphin’

-The Super Mega Sub is a Submarine from Lightspeed Rescue

I just think these changes would be mild improvements to their series. Then again I’m still half asleep, so all these ideas may be stupid.

I NEED Dynamo 5 to be adapted for a TV series

So I’ve been a big fan of Invincible since High School and I got introduced to Dynamo 5 through there but never really explored beyond it. Then I got reintroduced to them when I reread Invincible when the animated show was coming out and looked into them more. They seemed interesting but I didn’t do more than peruse the Wikipedia page.

Well I finally got around to reading it and I LOVED IT!

It’s so well written, the characters are amazing, the dynamics are fascinating, and I desperately need more! (Side note: I’m a little bit in love with Bridget so I need more of her)

Also the series leaves off on like 7 cliffhangers that are never resolved and I need answers. Like what’s going on with Sandy from F.L.A.G.? What’s going on with Synergy? Why were those guys hunting Captain Dynamo’s children? What’s the deal with Spencer’s mom’s people? Will Gage and Bridget’s families ever find out about their double lives?

Seriously this series is ripe to be made into an animated show. Not just because of the unanswered questions, but because people love complex superhero teams. And with Invincible raising Image a bit more into the general cultural consciousness It’d be a cool idea to build out that universe a bit more.

What would other Wild Force Rangers’ Battle Calls be?

So I was thinking about what Power Ranger powers are easily transferable (not as many as I thought, btw) and thinking about the Wild Force Rangers and how they got their powers. To become a Wild Force Ranger you need to have a Wild Zord Crystal and that particular Wild Zord to choose you as its wielder/caretaker. This means, theoretically, that the Wild Force team could be a LOT bigger. That got me thinking if there were more Wild Force Rangers what would the Roll/Battle call be.

Like we have:

Blazing Lion

Surging Shark

Soaring Eagle

Iron Bison

Noble Tiger

and

Howling Wolf

The only ones I can think of are:

Striking Rhino! Wild Force Cyan Ranger!

and

Defending Armadillo! Wild Force Violet Ranger!

Both as a reference to their soccer themed finisher.

What do you all think?

Edit: Specifically I’m thinking of the Zords that were introduced in the season. So the Elephant, Giraffe, Black Bear, Polar Bear, Gorilla, Rhino, Armadillo, Falcon, Deer, Alligator, and Hammerhead Shark.

I’m excluding the Animus Zords because they don’t have corresponding Crystals.

So a few weeks ago I said that practically every season of Power Rangers had at least one Ranger who would be more interesting if they’d been gender swapped. I then hyper fixated on that and thought about to the point I think I have a list of Rangers that would be more interesting if they’d been gender swapped. Now some of these will just be marginal improvements as some seasons actually do develop their characters well, but I do see at least some interesting options by switching the characters’ gender.

Just FYI it will be all male to female characters since Sentai footage almost always puts their female Rangers in skirts and no production company would put a male character in a super suit with a skirt (cowards).

Also I’m just going to list them, if anyone wants an explanation I will explain in the comments.

So here’s the list:

MMPR s1-I’m gonna leave this alone since they set the foundation.

MMPR s2/3-Rocky.

Alien Rangers-The Whole team except Delphine.

Zeo-Trey

Turbo-Justin

Space-Carlos

Lost Galaxy-Damon

Lightspeed Rescue-Ryan

Time Force-Lucas

Wild Force-Max

Ninja Storm-Hunter or Cam, leaning more Hunter

Dino Thunder-Connor and/or Ethan

SPD-Sam (also funny thing I realized, the women Rangers don’t wear skirts this season. So reasonably any member could’ve been any color)

Mystic Force-Nick

Operation Overdrive-Dax

Jungle Fury-Any or all of the Spirit Rangers, but of the main team, Dominic

RPM-Gem

Samurai-Jayden or Mike

Megaforce-Jake

Dino Charge-Prince Phillip and James, but on the main team, Riley

I’ve seen bits and pieces of Ninja Steel through Cosmic Fury but I haven’t watched enough to properly judge the characters. May come back and update when I finally watch them (may be a while, currently about to start Dino Thunder on my Power Rangers rewatch).

Over the course of the franchise Power Rangers has done a variety of gimmicks for their Megazords. For instance from MMPR season 3 through Turbo the Rangers would get Zords that were all Megazord sized and could fight on their own (the Shogun Zords, Super Zeo Zords, and Rescue Zords) before combining to form a Megazord (that somehow was the same size as the Zords they were just using).

There’s been Megazords with different forms like the Time Force Megazord and the Storm Megazord.

Megazords with interchangeable components like Wild Force and Dino Charge (sort of).

Auxiliary Zords and support Zords, etc.

So what’s your favorite Megazord gimmick?

So most Build your team is pretty generic choosing 6 Rangers of different colors. Here’s a fun variation I thought of. Choose any 6 Rangers across the franchise of any color or position. Have a team of all Red Rangers or all Sixth Rangers or your top 6 favorite characters whether or not they share colors. Here’s the twist, none of the Rangers you choose are coming with their power. You have to also choose a team’s powers to give to your built team.

For example: you could take Tommy, Adam, Carter, Trent, Jen, and Shelby and instead of having any of their normal Powers you could give them Lost Galaxy’s powers and assign them to different colors. Like Jen is Red, Carter is Blue, Trent is Green, Tommy is Yellow, Shelby is Pink, and Adam is the Magna Defender, just as an example.

I think this idea is interesting because your favorite Rangers might not necessarily gel with your favorite Powers. For instance teams like Time Force and SPD might struggle with more melee focused Powers like Wild Force and Samurai and vice versa.

Some additional parameters:

-If a team has more than 6 Powers in it you have to keep the core team members but can choose any of the extra Rangers for the sixth Ranger slot (I.e. if you choose Dino Charge you have to keep Red, Blue, Green, Black, and Pink Ranger Powers but can choose any of the 6 other Ranger Powers for the sixth slot)

-If your team only has 5 total members here are some options for that final slot: Dino Thunder any of the excess Dino Charge Rangers, Beast Morphers the Cat or Shadow Ranger from SPD or the Phantom Ranger from Turbo, and for Alien Rangers (why are you picking this one?) grab one of the extra Rangers from Ninja Steel.

Sound cool? Who are you picking and what powers are you giving them?
