CFA Level 1 Deferred Candidate Eligibility for Free Registration?

I deferred my CFA Level 1 exam from November 2025 to May 2026. Now CFA Institute has announced the free registration opportunity related to the recent issue/cyber incident.

Am I still eligible for the free registration even though I already deferred my exam once? Also, if I fail in all subjects in May 2026, would I still receive the free registration for an upcoming attempt?

Hi everyone,

I wanted to ask if anyone here has successfully gotten a CFA exam deferral due to dengue.

My situation:

- Diagnosed with dengue

- Platelet count dropped to ~45,000

- Not admitted to hospital (home rest)

- Exam is on 18 May

- Medical reports currently from 4 May

- doctor said bed rest for 15 days

I’m planning to get a doctor’s note stating I was unfit for the exam.

Has anyone had a similar case accepted or rejected?

Especially without hospitalization?

Would really appreciate honest experiences. Thanks!
