Forensic pathologist Dr. Raquel Fortun on Thursday called out people on social media naming those killed in gunfire as "corned beef," saying that they "don't look anything like corned beef."

"They don't look anything like corned beef. Take it from me, because I see a lot of dead bodies. You know what they look like? Tao. People. People with injuries, people who were killed," Fortun said.

"Paulit-ulit na lang na nangyayari ito sa bansa, so please step up. Everybody step up. Nakakahiya naman tayo," she added.

Actress Sharon Cuneta on Wednesday, April 29, is urging former vice president and now Naga City Mayor Leni Robredo to reconsider a possible return to national politics, saying she remains the leader who can “unite different parties” and has proven her commitment to the country.

In a social media post, Cuneta appealed for Robredo to run for president in 2028 despite her earlier decision to focus on local governance in Naga City.

“PLEASE RECONSIDER… You are the one who can unite these different parties,” Cuneta wrote, adding that many supporters continue to hope for Robredo’s return to the national stage.

Cuneta’s husband, Senator Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan, was Robredo’s vice presidential running mate in the 2022 elections under the opposition slate.

She also expressed willingness to support a potential Robredo comeback bid, noting growing public encouragement for another presidential run.

“Ma’am pupuntahan na daw po kayo ng anak naming si Miguel sa Naga para po pakiusapan kayo uli at ipaalala po ang sinabi niya sa inyo noong Victory Dinner ni Kiko last May,” she added.
