This show has so many fantastically written characters but Fuzzy Dunlop has to be the best. The plotline where he struggles with his role of being a police informant was so beautiful it made me cry. Bravo Simon.

I’ve often noticed that the rating curves of very popular movies are much less smooth than those of more obscure movies. I wonder why that is.

Four 3.8s for comparison. Note especially that the popular films have more fives than four and a halves, and a very similar number of 3/3.5 and 2/2.5. The less popular films also have nearly identical curves, but with much more gradual changes between ratings. There is one commonality between all four, though: a huge dropoff between 4 and 4.5. Apparently Letterboxd users are very discerning about what passes that threshold. I have to say personally that I do the same thing.
