Title. I tried multiple different Proton versions and it always is stuck on a black screen with only a cursor visible. Already opened a refund request with Steam at this point, but I'm just curious if there's anything I'm missing. Worth mentioning I'm on a Nvidia GPU.
Edit: refund went through, I'll maybe try again in the future next time it goes on sale.
Got banned for commenting "AI slop" on... well, slop.
I might be missing something here, but since WINE translates all Windows filesystem instructions to Linux ones, it seems logical that WINE inherently has the ability to sandbox filesystem access to just the WINE prefix's virtual Windows filesystem. I know that's the case when you run apps in Bottles, at least. Is that the case when you run Windows games via Proton on Steam as well? Or does Steam give those apps full filesystem access if you're not using the flatpak? Sorry if I'm missing something. Thanks in advance!
Such that Steam and games run from Steam don't have file system access outside of ~/.local/share/Steam, etc. Is the Steam flatpak the only way to achieve this? Thanks in advance.
