Mathematical & Physical Science to computer science
I got accepted into Mathematical and Physical Sciences at UTSG as an alternate program of study instead of Computer Science.
Is it harder for someone in Mathematical and Physical Sciences to get into the Computer Science program after first year compared to students who were admitted into the CS admission category? What should I do in first year to maximize my chances of getting into CS from Mathematical and Physical Sciences?
I know similar posts have been made before, but the ones I found were from around 6 years ago, so I wanted to know what has changed and whether this path is still worth trying.
I also got accepted into Studies in Mathematical & Computational Sciences at UTM. I’m trying to decide whether it would be better to try for CS POSt at UTM, or go to UTSG in Mathematical and Physical Sciences and try to get into CS there.
Also, is it possible to transfer from UTM to UTSG CS later if I take the required UTSG CS POSt courses from UTM, or would I need to first transfer into UTSG Arts & Science before applying to CS POSt?
Any advice from current students or people who went through this recently would be appreciated.
