Pre-Dent to Pre-Law

Hi does anyone have any advice about being a pre-law student or law school in general. For some background I am currently a junior about to be a senior and this year I switched my major from biology on a pre-dental track to just a psychology major, and have been looking into law school, but if it doesn’t workout then I’ll apply for a graduate program and continue working in the PSYC field. But my reason I switched was because I realized that I have gotten amazing grades on all of my psych and writing courses, and didn’t do so well in those prerequisites for dental school and basically to sum it up I got weaved out of them… My gpa is kind of tanked because of it those prerequisites and I have no prior law knowledge, connections, or anything, I just recently started doing some research on law school and it seems much more interesting than dental school lol!

But from what I’ve gathered from my little research is that my major doesn’t really matter but my GPA and LSAT score do…but my question is what do they really look at? What should my time line be for my application? Like when does it open and when is the best time to take my lsat in the position I’m in right now because I am having a bit of a panic attack for how behind I am, due to me switching my major anyways, what should I be doing to be able to score an internship or something to make my application stand out for when I do apply? And if anyone has any other advice, please I will take anything!

Thank you!
