We just got Ducky yesterday. He was from a pet store and has some cage aggression but he loves to sit on your shoulder. Is this him purring? Is that a good sign? I’ve noticed he’s uneasy towards hands. I don’t think it’s necessarily cage aggression (maybe he is) but I think he doesn’t like hands yet. He goes to bit our hands if we approach but if I use a stick, he’ll climb on it and come to us on that. He makes these purring sounds, beak grinds and little “quack” noises (hence the name lol). He’ll occasionally do a quick fluff but goes right back to normal size. The only time he screeches what I’d think is him upset is when we reach in his cage. He also preens our hair when he’s on our shoulders.
