converting old tablet into a cyber-deck

I originally intended to post this on r/cyberDeck, but I don't have enough karma. However, it probably requires some level of ricing anyway.

I was wondering if there is a way to use the hardware from an old Android device into a cyber-deck (rather than trowing it away) with a custom case and a different screen than the original. The only thing I could find on YouTube was basically attach a keyboard and mouse, and maybe a screen, using a docking station.

Also as a bonus it would be cool if you can use it as a tablet and a wireless car speaker.

I have an old tablet with a broken screen and display (I think they are separate). I'm not sure I can replace them without removing the battery which is glued too tight to remove without damage. It is not worth paying someone to repair it.

Aldo I might not be skilled enough to make such a build but it will still be a cool build for the community.

Edit, just realized I mixed up ricing and rooting.
