I'm currently a 19 year old student and I'm really lost on what I should major in. I've always really wanted to be a teacher since I was a junior in high school mainly because I have always adored working with kids. I babysat for 4-5 years with different families all the time and I always enjoyed working with them (consistent work too not just date nights). I know its not the same as teaching of course, but because I have this love for kids I have always gravitated to being a teacher because of the influence and impact I want to make on kids lives. The only thing discouraging me is hearing how hard it is being a teacher now. I would want to work in elementary and I'm in California so I know the pay is far better than most states (I also hear theres more prep time and little benefits like that) so I just wanted to ask from teachers themselves if I should.
